Code Studio works on plans and codes that yield vibrant, mixed use, walkable communities through creative urban infill and redevelopment strategies.

Founded in 2006, we believe that right-sizing plans and codes requires a deep understanding of community’s character, whether that character is based on our analysis of existing patterns or on new best practices for transformational future patterns.

We are a leader in form-based codes with award-winning innovation and approach to projects. Form-based code work constitutes a substantial part of our current national zoning practice. When we craft new regulations, we believe they must be fully understood by local citizens and property owners, easily administered by local staff, produce a predictable end result, and above all, fit within the existing legal and regulatory framework.
